Christmas at Emmanuel 2019

We hope you are looking forward to Christmas this year! There are lots of exciting things coming up and many ways you can get involved so here is a little more information for you...

CAROL SINGING: 14th December, Canterbury, 3.30-5.30pm
What is it? Every year a group of us meet together to sing some old favourites in a few key places around Canterbury. All the words are provided in song books and we will be led by Corinne Hagan. Our Chirstmas flyer and chocolates are given out as people walk by and often they want to stop and listen or even have a chat.
How can you get involved? We need as many people as possible to get involved. It doesn't matter if you consider yourself a good singer or not! All ages are very welcome too so bring the family. If you really don't like signing we also need volunteers to hand out the flyers and chocolates so there is a place for everyone!

CAROL SERVICE: 15th December, St. John's Hall, 6.00pm
What is it? This will be a traditional carol service with Christmas songs, readings and a gospel talk. We decorate the hall nicely and finish the evening with mulled wine and mince pies.
How can you get involved? Again, we need you to come along! The time is slightly earlier this year to especially encourage families to come but it is an evening for everyone. Do invite as many friends and family to join us too. This year we are asking people to sign up to bringing mince pies for the evening so do get in touch with Debbie if you could help with this.

DIY NATIVITY: 22nd December, St. John's Hall, 10.30am
What is it? This will be an all age service where young (and sometimes old!) are welcome to come dressed as characters from the nativity and we will have a chance to look again at the story of the amazing birth of Jesus. There will be no children's groups but the creche room will be available with a sound relay if it is needed.
How can you get involved? Come and enjoy the fun!

CHURCH CHRISTMAS PARTY: 22nd Decmeber, St. John's Hall, 4-6pm
What is it? This is our annual Christmas party full of lots of fun and laughter! There will be fun games to play for all ages, a quiz, a party tea and we will finish the afternoon with some songs together, including Roger's famous '12 days of Christmas' rendition.
How can you get involved? This is for everyone to enjoy having some festive fun together so come and join in! We need people to help bring cakes too so do get in touch with Debbie if you can help.
