Ex-gangster to reveal his true life
A former gangster is coming to Canterbury to tell his remarkable story.
When the notorious Kray twins Reggie and Ronnie stabbed Jack McVitie to death in north London, Chris Lambrianou helped clear up the mess and tried to dispose of Jack’s body south of the Blackwall Tunnel. But he was convicted for murder along with both the Krays, and he was jailed for life.
“There’s no lonelier place than prison”, maintains Chris. Yet inside, his life began to change.
Released after 15 years, he later married and children arrived – twins! “A boy and a girl, not two boys,” Chris chuckles. “Still, life can be ironic.”
Now a reformed man, Chris will illustrate his gripping story “From the Krays to Christ” with scenes from the BBC2 Documentary “The day that changed my life.” He will then answer on-the-spot questions put to him from the audience.
Chris is in Canterbury on Saturday 3 February, at St John’s Primary School at 7pm. Admission is Free, and entrance is via St Radigund’s Car Park.
