Sunday Evening Meeting

What happens? Our Sunday evening meeting (called 'Living Word') puts the spotlight on the Christ of Christianity- who he is, why he came to earth and what it means to follow him today. All the extras that you would find in a church service (such as singing and praying) are stripped away to make people feel as comfortable as possible as we look at the Gospel of Luke together in the Bible.

Who is it for? Living Word is made especially suitable for someone who is not sure what they believe. We believe that the good news of Jesus Christ is good news for everybody- good news for the irreligious, the religious, the atheist, whoever! Convinced Christians also enjoy coming, knowing that growing as a Christian involves being rooted and built up in him.

How does it work each week? People arrive at 7.30pm and are supplied with a Bible. Someone then gives a talk for about 30 minutes looking at a passage of Luke's gospel. After that there is plenty of time for questions and discussion. No-one is put on the spot at any point. Sometimes we have At 8.30pm we will formally finish so that busy people can get away, or for those who can stay, drinks and biscuits are served. The following week we carry on in Luke's gospel where we left off.
